EDUCATION AND LEARNING
POWERFUL LEARNING IS PURPOSEFUL AND ENGAGING
At St. Michael's we aim to develop independent, responsible learners who are engaged and passionate in their learning.
We know this is an ongoing process contributed by teachers who view themselves as learners, who continually engage in professional learning opportunities, furthering their skills and knowledge of the curriculum and contemporary teaching practices.
Children learn best when they:
• are engaged and passionate about what they are learning
• have an active responsibility to contribute to their learning
• believe their voice is being listened to and is valued within the learning process
• have a curriculum that is tailored to meet their individual needs.
All of these are encouraged at St. Michael's as the children learn to becoming independent, capable learners who are ready and prepared for each stage of their learning journey.
